How

When Toyota asked us to help them present this new consolidated department to the public, our integrated team stepped in to build out an experience that made a very complex and large organization's work digestible to a niche audience. We visited Toyota's AMRD headquarters in Ann Arbor, Michigan to meet with their Communications Team, engineering leads, and researchers to get a better picture of how the new R&D divisions would be organized. While conducting stakeholder interviews, we learned of their challenges and objectives in appealing primarily to experienced engineers in the job pool along with the media who report on their work. Utilizing existing user data, past research, and stakeholder feedback, we started the process of building user flows, user personas, a sitemap, and wireframes that guided our design teams and helped build mutual buy-in with the client.

Results

Toyota gained a new recruiting and public engagement tool that can efficiently answer "What's the difference between AMRD's divisions?". Our preliminary SEO work helped the site rank higher for several key search terms.
