Motion Hub v1.0 Release

February 1, 2026

This app has been a passion project for a while. I was looking for a way to control visuals and perform music at the same time inside the same interface. My first thought was to build a VST, but I found more flexibility in design and functionality in building a standalone desktop application.

In order to connect this device to hardware, I built a separate Max for Live device that lets you control the visuals via Ableton Live connected to a Push MIDI controller. This let’s a performer launch clips, play instruments, and execute a full musical performance while controlling the visuals within the same interface.

An additional differentiator of this app is the “Inspiration Pack” feature. This allows artists to import their own images, videos, and gifs, that are integrated into the visual effects. This allows the artist to curate the look and feel according to their preferences and brand standards.

There are tons of improvements already staged for v2.0. I’m looking at how we can give even more control of the visual output to the artist and ways to introduce even more reactivity to the audio input signal that Motion Hub receives.
